The Program Aides in Learning Program (PAL) at Camp Dart-Lo day camp offers teens in grades 6-9 hands-on training and experience with camper groups. Teens work with adults and younger campers to develop camp program skills, behavior management and teaching skills. During the PALs program, teens enjoy traditional camp activities while guiding younger campers in outdoor play, communications, service-learning and team-building. Along the way, teens discover their own “Sparks” and strengths.
Camp activities include swimming, outdoor skills, archery, singing, games, arts and crafts, nature, magic, storytelling, hiking, cookouts and more. The program varies with each age group.
Jr. PALs - Grades 6-8: This three-week program includes two weeks of leadership training, team building, adventure activities and camp program skills to become familiar with the program assistant perspective. The third week will be spent gaining hands-on experience leading younger campers.
